During the period of WW1 (World War One) two British soldiers schofield and blake were assigned to an impossible mission. Blake's brother will be in an another military base. Both schofield and blake need to cross the enemy's border (Germans) to reach the destination camp. Their mission was to pass on the order of chief general to the commanding officer at another base.
The director Sam Mendes narrated the story very well, same as his grandfather narrated to him during his childhood. This film was based on the real life incident happens during WW1.
Why it was very important to pass on the message is, it involves the life of 1600 (sixteen hundred) militants at the base and both schofield, blake are in deadline to pass the letter to commander in very short period of time. The screenplay of movie was very well written as from the beginning once the task is assigned to both of them.
Reason for this film to get Oscar and many film awards is for the details they worked in movie and also in every department from editing, cinematography, music and more..
Both the characters of Blake and Schofield Will are very well sketched, especially the character schofield is very deep, touches our heart at the end of the film.
The Movie clearly shows us how hard it was to be a army man during war situations and the raw frames in film takes and make us also feel like, we also live in that period.
1917 is simply the patriotism of two true soldiers towards their country till the very end, whatever the situation is, whatever the condition is, that you should never lose your hope. Is what the film tells you very strongly.
Groot Review - 4.5/5 star
